In Mobility Work, any work order is handled through a task.
There are two types of tasks:
- individual tasks, created manually by users;
- tasks generated from a maintenance plan, created automatically by the system.
This article focuses exclusively on tasks linked to a maintenance plan.
To learn more about individual task management, please refer to the dedicated article.
What is a maintenance plan?
A maintenance plan allows you to:
- organize preventive maintenance actions;
- schedule recurring interventions on equipment;
- define task generation rules (frequency, dates, assignees, etc.).
Once the plan is configured, Mobility Work automatically creates the corresponding tasks.
Automatic task creation
Tasks linked to a maintenance plan:
- cannot be created manually;
- are automatically generated according to the schedule defined in the plan.
This includes:
- the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) if applicable;
- the counter cycle (for counter-based plans);
- start and end dates;
- assigned users or teams.
No additional action is required once the plan is activated.
Where do generated tasks appear?
Once created, tasks:
- appear in the assigned users’ agenda;
- are visible in task lists;
- can then be tracked, completed, or canceled depending on permissions.
Each generated task corresponds to one occurrence of the maintenance plan.
Key points to remember
- A task linked to a maintenance plan is always created automatically.
- Creation rules depend entirely on the maintenance plan.
- Modifying the plan impacts future uncompleted tasks.
- Modifying a task only impacts that specific task.
