How does equipment search work?

Access equipment search

The search bar located at the top of the application lets you find equipment, tasks, activities, companies and suppliers.

To display equipment, enter a keyword in the search bar and select the Equipment tab. The equipment of your network is displayed in the Network tab.

Search by keyword

Enter a keyword to display the matching equipment. The search is performed on the following fields:

  • equipment name
  • equipment item code
  • equipment description
  • custom fields, if custom field search is enabled for your network

Fuzzy or Exact search mode (if enabled for your network): a toggle located to the right of the search bar lets you choose between two modes:

  • Fuzzy: tolerates typos and spelling variants;
  • Exact: only shows equipment that precisely matches the terms entered. The search covers the same fields as in Fuzzy mode.

Available filters

You can refine your search with the following filters.

  • The maintenance plan filter shows all equipment (1), only equipment without a maintenance plan (2) or only equipment with a maintenance plan (3).
  • The Cost center filter shows equipment from one or more cost centers (4).
  • The Labels filter shows equipment that carries one or more selected labels (5).
  • The Excluded labels filter hides equipment that carries certain labels (6). With the Or operator, equipment carrying at least one of the excluded labels is hidden. With the And operator, selected by default, only equipment carrying all the excluded labels at once is hidden.
  • The Task labels filter shows equipment based on the labels of its associated tasks (7).
  • The custom fields filter shows equipment based on the value of a custom field.
  • The Include archived equipment filter adds archived equipment to the results (8). This filter is reserved for administrators.

Read the results

The results are displayed as a table: each piece of equipment is one row. You can sort the columns, choose the number of rows per page and move from one page to another.

Each row shows the following information:

  • equipment name (point 1 in the image below)
  • description (2)
  • item code (3)
  • associated labels (4)
  • indication that a maintenance plan exists (5)
  • cost center (6)

The following actions are available on each row:

  • Create a task on the equipment (7)
  • equipment QR code (8)

If custom fields are enabled in your network’s search, they are also displayed on the result row, with priority given to those that match your search.
