When you cancel or delete a task, consumed parts are not automatically returned to stock.
Since stock movements are independent from the task, they must be manually canceled to return the quantities to the inventory.
Why aren’t parts automatically returned to stock after a task is deleted or canceled?
When a part is used during a task activity, it is recorded as a stock movement in the part’s movement history.
Deleting or canceling a task:
- does not delete the associated stock movements
- allows the system to maintain traceability of consumptions
Without additional action, the parts remain considered as consumed.
How to return parts to stock
To cancel the consumption of a part, two options are available:
1. Delete the part withdrawal from the activity
- Open the relevant task.
- Go to the Activities section.
- In the relevant activity, click the â‹® (three dots) button and select Delete.
The quantities will automatically be returned to stock.
2. Delete the activity
Click the Delete button available in the relevant activity.
Once all consumptions have been canceled, you can proceed with canceling or deleting the task.
Best practices
- Always check the consumed parts before canceling or deleting a task.
- Cancel stock movements first to avoid inventory discrepancies.
