How to delete a spare part
Deleting a spare part permanently removes it from your database.
⚠️ This action is irreversible and must be performed with caution.
Steps to delete a spare part
- Go to the Spare Parts tab.
- Locate the spare part you want to delete.
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) menu to the right of the spare part.
- Select Delete spare part.
Before confirming the deletion, make sure this action is truly necessary.
Important points before deletion
- If there are any tasks created on the spare part, these will also be deleted.
- Once confirmed, the deletion cannot be undone.
How to archive a spare part
Archiving a spare part removes it from the active list while keeping the history of past actions. This is the recommended option when a spare part is no longer used but you want to keep its data.
Archive a spare part
- Go to the Spare Parts or Equipment tab.
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) menu to the right of the relevant spare part.
- Select Archive spare part.
Consequences of archiving
- Ongoing or future tasks associated with the spare part are deleted.
- Completed tasks are kept but can no longer be modified.
- Maintenance plans linked to the spare part are archived.
- Links with other equipment or spare parts are removed.
After archiving, the spare part remains viewable for history or audit purposes, but it can no longer be used in new operations.
