When creating or modifying equipment, it is possible to specify the spare parts associated with that equipment.
The feature that links spare parts to equipment in Mobility Work offers optimized stock management and maintenance interventions. By associating each spare part with the specific equipment it is intended for, this feature allows you to centralize all relevant information.
In practice, when you associate a spare part with equipment, you can track the stock status of that part in real-time, anticipate needs based on planned maintenance, and reduce the risk of unavailability. This approach also facilitates the management of parts orders and purchases by providing better visibility into stock levels and usage history.
How to link spare parts to equipment?
We offer two ways to link spare parts to equipment:
Manual Management:
Process: You create and maintain the parts catalog by manually adding spare parts at the time each piece of equipment is set up or as you use them. This method requires a higher initial effort to establish the full inventory.
Advantages: This approach allows for more rigorous control and precise configuration of parts associated with the equipment. Although it takes more time, it offers flexibility to adjust and verify information as needed.
Auto-population:
Process: When you use a part for equipment, this action automatically updates the list of parts linked to that equipment. In other words, the consumption of parts feeds the spare parts catalog in real-time for each equipment.
To activate this feature, the network administrator must go to the network settings and select the Automatically link spare parts and equipments option.
Advantages: This approach reduces the need for manual management and allows for instant updates. You always have access to an accurate list of parts used and available for each piece of equipment without any additional intervention.
Both approaches ultimately lead to the same result: obtaining a list of spare parts associated with each piece of equipment to facilitate maintenance management. The difference lies in how this list is populated. The choice between the two methods will depend on your preferences regarding automation or manual management.
