How to check the stock of a spare part?
To check the stock of a spare part, simply go to the search page and type a keyword to find the part.
Once the part is found in the results, you can view the detailed stock status by hovering over it with your mouse pointer.
Of course, the stock is also visible on the spare part's sheet, along with its price and other details such as the minimum stock, maximum stock, location, etc.
How to modify spare parts stock?
Two options are available: inventory and restock. Both are available in the spare parts search page as well as on the sheet of each specific spare part.
Inventory
It is possible to store additional quantities in your CMMS, even if you haven’t physically restocked your inventory. The Inventory option allows for an accurate count of all available stock units at a given moment, verifying and documenting the current quantity of each item in stock. This option allows you to record a quantity higher or lower than the actual amount.
It also enables you to adjust the unit price or the currency used.
To manually update the stock, click the Inventory button. The modal will appear as follows:
By clicking one of the buttons on the right, you can adjust the quantity or the price/currency.
Restock
Restocking involves ordering or acquiring additional items for stock to maintain or reach desired stock levels. This is usually done when the stock reaches a critical or predetermined level.
To restock the stock of a spare part, you can click on the Restock button available on the spare part’s sheet. A modal will open, allowing you to enter the quantity to be restocked.
The quantity for a part will be proposed by default, along with the current date and time.
If the price does not change for your new batch, you can click on the Fill with existing price option.
Consumption
Lastly, the stock is automatically updated with consumption. If you enter an activity (task) with a spare part (or more) linked to it, the stock will automatically decrease by the number of parts used.
This movement is visible in the History of movements tab of the specific spare part page.
