A measure (counter) is a device used to track the usage or performance of an asset or machine. It can represent operating hours, production cycles, or any other relevant metric. The information collected from measures helps plan and schedule usage-based maintenance activities efficiently.
How Does a Measure Work in Mobility Work?
In Mobility Work, a measure allows you to track the usage or performance of an asset using quantifiable data. You can create measures for parameters such as operating hours, distance traveled, energy consumption, machine downtime, and more.
A measure is defined by a name and a unit (for example, “Downtime” in hours). It can be used in different maintenance contexts, either during task execution or directly from the asset, without creating a task or intervention.
For example, for a Parts Produced measure, you can enter its value:
- During a maintenance activity: while a task is being performed
- In a checklist, during task execution
- Directly from the asset: for fast and flexible tracking, independently of any planned intervention
This flexibility enables accurate and continuous tracking of measures, even for one-off actions or outside the maintenance schedule.
How to Use Measures in Maintenance?
In Mobility Work, measures are used to track asset usage and trigger maintenance actions.
Using Measures During Interventions
During an activity or a checklist, the technician can select the appropriate measure and enter the measured value.
For example, they can record machine hours or any other indicator relevant to the task.
For checklists, the measure is already linked, and only the value needs to be entered.
Automatic Triggering of Maintenance Tasks
Numeric measure readings can automatically generate maintenance tasks when predefined thresholds are reached (operating hours, cycles, etc.).
This helps anticipate interventions, reduce breakdown risks, and optimize asset lifespan.

How to Track Measure Readings?
All readings for a measure can be viewed on a dedicated page, accessible from the Dashboard in Mobility Work. This feature is available to administrators only.
