Measure units define the measurement used to track the activity or condition of equipment in Mobility Work. They make it possible to precisely quantify what the measure records, such as downtime in hours, distance traveled in kilometers, energy consumption in kWh, fluid volume in liters, and more.
Units can be numeric or text-based:
- Numeric units allow calculations and can be used in usage-based maintenance plans.
- Text units are used only for display or data entry purposes and cannot automatically trigger tasks.
Mobility Work provides a list of ready-to-use system units, included by default in all installations. These units cannot be deleted or archived, and their code starts with “$” to make them easily identifiable.
You can also create custom units, either numeric or text-based, to suit your specific needs.
Choosing the right unit is essential to ensure accurate and consistent equipment tracking and to fully leverage usage-based maintenance features.
