An intervention often reveals another one: a defect spotted during an inspection, a prerequisite discovered along the way, a check that needs rescheduling. Linked tasks capture this connection between two tasks, so you know why the second one exists and can navigate from one to the other in one click.
Until now, this link could only be created by a checklist step answered with a thumbs down. You can now create a linked task from any task, without going through a checklist.
Creating a linked task from a task
- Open the task from which you want to create the follow-up intervention.
- Locate the Linked Tasks card in the task detail.
- Click the + button (Add a linked task), at the top right of the card.
- The task creation form opens in a new tab. The equipment from the original task is already carried over, and a message confirms the task will be automatically linked.
- Complete the task as usual, then save.
The link is created upon saving. The new task appears in the Linked Tasks card of the original task, and vice versa.

Creating a linked task from a checklist
The second entry point still exists and hasn't changed: when a technician answers a validation step negatively (thumbs down), they can create a corrective task, and the link with the current task is established automatically.
An administrator can make this creation mandatory: in Network Settings › Task Settings, enable Require creation of a linked task. The technician will then need to create the linked task before being able to close the checklist or complete the task.
Unlinking two tasks
On the relevant row of the Linked Tasks card, use the Unlink task action, then confirm.
Only the link is removed: no task is deleted. Both interventions continue to exist independently.
Current limitations
- A linked task is created from a task or a checklist: it is not possible to link two already-existing tasks after the fact.
- The link only has one nature — "created from this task" or "created from the checklist." There are no additional relationship types yet (blocks, is blocked by…).
- Neither the link's creation date nor its author are kept.
- Only the equipment is carried over into the creation form; the original task's labels, documents, and photos are not copied.
