Tags are used to categorize and organize tasks, equipment, users, and checklists in Mobility Work.
This article explains how to edit a tag, customize its color, and delete it, as well as the impacts of each action.
How to edit a tag?
A tag can be edited at any time by an administrator.
Steps
- Go to the Tags menu.
- Click on the relevant tag.
- Make the desired changes.
- Save.
Once the modification is validated, all entities linked to the tag (tasks, equipment, users, checklists) are automatically updated, including intervention history.
Tag code
When a tag is created, a code is automatically generated.
- It corresponds to the tag name,
- without uppercase letters or spaces.
This code is mainly used for integrations and imports.
Example of use
When importing equipment, the tag code is used in the import file, not the visible tag name.
Editing the code
- The code is manually editable.
- You can set a value different from the tag name if you have a specific use case.
⚠️ Warning
If existing integrations rely on the tag code, changing it may cause broken links.
In this case, it is strongly recommended not to modify the code.
How to change a tag color?
To improve readability and categorization, you can assign a color to a tag.
Steps
- Go to the Tags menu.
- Click the paintbrush icon next to the tag.
- Select the desired color.
- Confirm.
The color change is applied immediately.
How to delete a tag?
If a tag is no longer used, it can be deleted.
Steps
- Open the Tags menu.
- Click the trash can icon next to the relevant tag.
- Confirm the deletion.
Consequences of deletion
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
- The tag is automatically removed from:
- all tasks;
- all equipment;
- all checklists;
- all users it was linked to.
👉 Before deleting a tag, make sure it is no longer needed for tracking, categorization, or historical purposes.
Key takeaways
- Tags can be managed only by administrators.
- Any modification is automatically applied to all linked items.
- The tag code is critical for integrations.
- Deleting a tag is irreversible.
