A tag is a label that helps personalize a set of information (maintenance interventions, equipment, users, etc.) present in the Mobility Work CMMS. It is used to classify and assign additional attributes to equipment and interventions.
Tags can be configured by network administrators through the Tags menu in the sidebar.
What is the purpose of tags?
How to tag different objects?
Tags can be used for various purposes, such as:
-
Classifying equipment
You can create tags for different categories or attributes. For example, you can create tags for a specific "production line." You also have the option to tag machines based on regulatory standards with a "maintenance contract" label. Moreover, you can identify a machine as "critical" if it is more important than other equipment. The options are numerous and varied.
-
Linking equipment, sub-equipment, and spare parts
Tags provide an efficient way to link equipment, sub-equipment, and spare parts together. By assigning a common tag to these elements, you get a broader view of maintenance performed on an entire piece of equipment, including its sub-equipment and spare parts.
Imagine you have a complex piece of equipment with several sub-equipment and numerous spare parts. For example, if you create a "hydraulic press" label, you can assign it not only to the hydraulic press itself but also to all its sub-equipment (e.g., cooling system, control system) and spare parts (e.g., seals, filters). This means that whenever you perform a search or analysis with the "hydraulic press" label, you will see all maintenance interventions performed on these elements.
-
Classifying maintenance technicians
For example, you can group them by specialty, such as "electricians" and "mechanics," or you can tag them based on their work hours, such as "morning shift," "weekend shift," etc. Once created, you can assign these tags to your colleagues.
-
Classifying tasks
For instance, to identify the type of intervention, you can tag your tasks with labels such as "preventive maintenance," "corrective," "regulatory," "mechanical," etc. Other options include "production downtime" or "new construction." You can also create labels based on projects.
-
Labeling maintenance plans
You can select a "Regulatory" tag for a maintenance operation that must be performed every month, or a tag for safety operations, environmental checks, and so on.
When creating a task on equipment, the tags assigned to the equipment are automatically added to the intervention. Before validating the task creation, you can remove or add additional labels if needed. This helps avoid oversights and improves the statistical analysis of your interventions.
Tags play a crucial role in the Mobility Work CMMS. They allow you to personalize and classify various pieces of information present in the system. Whether for equipment, maintenance interventions, or users, tags or labels provide a flexible way to assign additional attributes.
Tags in data analysis
Labels or tags are also a powerful tool for data analysis on the Mobility Work dashboard. They allow you to organize and filter your data in a meaningful way for better understanding.
For example, labels can be used to segment data by team or production line, offering a more detailed view of performance. You can also use labels to track the progress of specific tasks or critical equipment over a given period.
Using labels in data analysis on the dashboard helps provide a more accurate and personalized picture of your maintenance operations, assisting in making more informed and strategic decisions.
Tags in integrations
Labels or tags are extremely useful in integrations. They allow for precise and efficient linking of data between different platforms and tools. For instance, you can use tags to identify specific equipment when importing data from or to other systems. Furthermore, each tag's unique code ensures accurate matching and avoids duplicates or identification errors. Thanks to these labels, you can filter and classify your data more precisely during performance analysis.
Tag code
Each tag created in the Mobility Work CMMS is assigned a unique code. This code is automatically generated from the tag's name, removing the uppercase letters and spaces. For example, a tag named "Preventive Maintenance" would have the code "preventive-maintenance."
However, it is possible to modify the tag code according to your organization's specific needs. This can be especially useful if you are using integrations with other systems and need an exact match.
It is important to note that changing a tag's code after integrations are established may cause broken links. Therefore, it is recommended not to modify the code once it has been used in an integration.
