When a receipt is recorded on a purchase order, Mobility Work automatically updates the inventory of the affected spare parts.
This mechanism synchronizes supplier deliveries with your network's inventory.
What happens when a receipt is recorded?
Each time a receipt is recorded:
- Received quantities are added to available inventory
- Received quantities are updated on the purchase order lines
- The latest known purchase price of the parts is updated
- A receipt history record is created
Only quantities that have actually been received are added to inventory.
Automatic inventory update
Inventory replenishment is performed automatically after a receipt is validated.
For example:
- An order line contains 10 units
- A receipt for 4 units is recorded
- Inventory increases by only 4 units
During subsequent receipts, inventory continues to increase according to the quantities received.
Partial and multiple receipts
Several receipts can be recorded on the same purchase order.
This makes it possible to manage:
- Split deliveries
- Supplier delays
- Remaining order balances
Each receipt:
- Updates received quantities
- Updates inventory
- Updates the purchase order history
Inventory is never reserved in advance. Only parts that have actually been received are added to inventory.
Updating the latest purchase price
When a receipt is validated, the unit price entered on the order line becomes the latest known purchase price for the spare part.
This price is displayed directly on the spare part record.
It is used for:
- Inventory valuation
- Analytical reporting
- Future purchase orders
The displayed price corresponds to the most recently recorded purchase price, not an average of previous purchases.
Asynchronous inventory update
Inventory updates are not always instantaneous.
After a receipt is validated:
- The purchase order is updated immediately.
- Inventory replenishment is processed in the background.
- The spare part inventory is updated a few seconds later.
If you open the spare part record immediately after recording a receipt, you may need to refresh the page after a few seconds.
Can a recorded receipt be cancelled?
At this time, Mobility Work does not allow a validated receipt to be cancelled directly.
Once recorded:
- The receipt remains visible in the history
- Received quantities remain recorded
- Inventory remains updated
This limitation ensures complete traceability of inventory movements.
Correcting a receipt error
If a receipt was recorded incorrectly, several solutions are available.
Adjust inventory manually
You can adjust inventory directly from the spare part record.
This allows you to correct:
- An incorrect received quantity
- A data entry error
- A receipt recorded against the wrong spare part

View receipt history
Each recorded receipt appears in the purchase order history.
The history allows you to review:
- The receipt date
- The user who recorded the receipt
- The quantities received
- Associated status changes
This traceability makes it easier to monitor deliveries and investigate potential issues.
Best practices
To maintain accurate inventory:
- Verify quantities before validating receipts
- Record receipts as deliveries arrive
- Check inventory levels after receiving goods
- Avoid recording full receipts when deliveries are split
- Regularly review purchase order history
