An API key is a secure identifier that allows you to connect your network to external services or automate certain actions through integrations.
It acts as an “access token” that enables data exchanges between your environment and other tools.
API key scope
An API key is valid for the entire network.
This means that:
- It is not linked to a specific user
- It provides access to the data and features of the network
- All actions performed using this key impact the network as a whole
Validity period
The API key does not have an expiration date.
It is therefore important to keep it secure and only share it with trusted services.
Who can request an API key?
Only the network administrator is authorized to request and manage an API key.
This includes:
- generating the key
- sharing it
- revoking it if necessary
Other users do not have access to this feature.
Best practices
To ensure the security of your network:
- Never share your API key publicly
- Store it in a secure environment
- Regenerate it if there is any doubt or compromise
- Limit its use to necessary integrations
