Role, profile, or license: what’s the difference?
In Mobility Work, the following terms refer to the same concept:
Role (term used in the interface)
Profile (common term)
License (term often used by users)
👉 They all correspond to the access level and permissions of a user within the application.
Overview of profiles (roles/licenses)
In the Mobility Work CMMS, different profiles (roles/licenses) are available to adapt the use of the platform according to each user’s responsibilities.
Administrator profile
The Administrator profile is intended for users responsible for the overall management of the platform and its users.
An administrator can:
manage equipment, tasks, activities, labels, and maintenance plans
modify or delete data
reopen completed tasks
manage users (roles/licenses, passwords if the user only accesses the specific network)
👉 This profile provides full control over the application.
Technician profile
The Technician profile is designed for users responsible for maintenance interventions.
A technician can:
create and assign tasks and activities
modify interventions
However, they cannot:
modify other users’ activities
modify completed tasks
manage equipment or user permissions
👉 This profile offers high operational autonomy, without administrative access.
Production profile
The Production profile is designed for task tracking and creation.
A Production user can:
create tasks
modify only their own tasks
They cannot:
add activities
👉 This profile is included at no additional cost in the subscription.
Service provider profile
The Service provider profile is intended for external stakeholders.
A service provider can:
access only the tasks assigned to them
add activities to those tasks
👉 This profile ensures data confidentiality and accurate tracking of external interventions. It is also included at no additional cost in the subscription.
