Maintenance plans do not have a predefined end date, which gives them an unlimited duration by default. This means they remain active unless explicitly terminated or archived.
However, if you wish to end a maintenance plan and no longer want to manage the associated tasks, you can archive it. Archiving a maintenance plan allows you to suspend it permanently while keeping the history of completed interventions.
When you archive a maintenance plan, all future scheduled occurrences are deleted from your network. This also includes any future canceled tasks, as well as their content, in an irreversible manner.
It is important to note that archiving a plan prevents it from being recovered once it has been archived. If you archive a plan, it cannot be reactivated. However, interventions performed before archiving will still be accessible.
To archive a maintenance plan, you can proceed in two ways. The first is by accessing the maintenance plan list and clicking on the archive icon next to the relevant plan. The second option is to go directly to the dedicated maintenance plan page, where you will also find a button or option to archive the plan.
It is highly recommended to carefully consider before archiving a maintenance plan, as this action is final and results in the deletion of all data associated with future tasks. If you need to stop a plan temporarily and resume it later, it is more appropriate to pause it.
Note: An archived plan no longer appears in the plan search. To find it, you must apply the corresponding filter in the Status of the Maintenance Plan field in the Filters section.
